Sarilumab falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INDUCERS — the group Cannabidiol (cbd) interacts with.

Theoretically, CYP3A4 inducers might decrease cannabidiol levels.
Cannabidiol is a substrate of CYP3A4 enzymes. Theoretically, drugs that induce CYP3A4 enzymes might reduce the levels and effects of cannabidiol.

Here's the thing to keep in mind with this pairing: the interaction runs in the opposite direction from what most people expect. It's not that Sarilumab (Kevzara) changes because of CBD. Instead, CBD levels may drop when you're on Sarilumab. That's because Sarilumab can ramp up a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, and CBD is partly cleared by that same enzyme. Speed up the enzyme, and the CBD may not stick around as long, so it could feel like it's working less well.

I'll be honest, this one is theoretical, based on how these things work on paper rather than solid studies, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Just mention your CBD use to your pharmacist or doctor, especially since CBD products vary so much in quality and strength.

About Sarilumab Injection

What Is Sarilumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Kevzara

Kevzara (sarilumab) injection is approved for three conditions. In adults, it treats moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) when at least one other disease-modifying drug hasn't worked well enough or caused intolerance. It also treats polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) in adults who haven't responded adequately to corticosteroids or who can't tolerate tapering them.

Kevzara is also approved for polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pJIA) — a form of childhood arthritis — but only in patients who weigh 63 kg (about 139 lbs) or more. It is not approved for pediatric patients below that weight due to the lack of an appropriate dosage form.
