Casein Peptides and Butenafine

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Butenafine and Casein Peptides in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Casein Peptides safety at a glance

Pregnancy Use caution Not enough reliable safety data, so it is best to avoid concentrated supplements unless advised by your doctor.

How we checked

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Butenafine

Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Butenafine is filed under 2 classifications — antifungals, oral drugs. Casein Peptides has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being antihypertensive drugs (moderate) — and none of Butenafine’s classifications are among them.

Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Butenafine page

“Butenafine (Mentax), an antifungal cream for athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm, carries a supplement list that deserves real vigilance, and most of that vigilance points at one entry. Activated charcoal, the only major-rated interaction of the 20 on file, can reduce the body's exposure to many drugs regardless of how they were gi…”

About Casein Peptides

What is Casein Peptides?

  • High blood pressure
  • Stress and relaxation
  • Sleep support
  • General wellness/protein supplement

Casein peptides are small protein fragments made from milk casein, often studied for mild blood pressure support and relaxation. The evidence is limited and mostly modest, so they should not replace proven treatments. People with milk allergy should avoid them, and anyone with a health condition should check with a pharmacist or doctor first.

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Casein Peptides is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Casein Peptides record says about it on its own.

Casein Peptides: dosing

There is no official or standardized dose of casein peptides. The amounts used in studies have varied widely depending on the specific peptide and product, and there is no single agreed-upon effective dose.If you choose to use a casein peptide product, follow the directions on the label and do not exceed the recommended amount. They can help you decide whether the product is appropriate and which form makes sense for you.

Products containing butenafine — including Athletes Foot, Athletes Foot Ultra, Butenafine Hydrochloride, Butenafine Hydrochloride 1%, Jock Itch, and Jock Itch Cream — cure most cases of athlete's foot (between the toes), jock itch, and ringworm. They also relieve the itching, burning, cracking, and scaling that come with these infections.

For athlete's foot, these products work between the toes. Effectiveness on the bottom or sides of the foot is not established. Jock Itch and Jock Itch Cream are specifically indicated for jock itch and its associated symptoms.
