Clinical research shows that some casein peptides, including the lactotripeptides isoleucine-proline-proline (IPP) and valine-proline-proline (VPP), can modestly reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertension.

Here's the simple version. Azilsartan (Edarbi) already lowers your blood pressure by relaxing your blood vessels. Casein peptides may gently nudge blood pressure down too, partly by blocking the same ACE enzyme that other blood pressure drugs target. So you're really stacking two things that push in the same direction.

For most people this overlap is mild, and the research behind the supplement is modest. Still, if you take both, you could occasionally see your pressure dip a little too far, which might leave you feeling dizzy, lightheaded, or tired, especially when standing up quickly. Azilsartan is not a prodrug, so this is an additive effect, not a metabolism problem. If you'd like to try casein peptides, just check in with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your readings.

Azilsartan medoxomil tablets — sold as both the generic Azilsartan Medoxomil and the brand Edarbi — are approved to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. Bringing blood pressure down lowers the risk of serious cardiovascular events, especially stroke and heart attack.

The medication can be used on its own or alongside other blood pressure medicines. It is not a cure for high blood pressure, and managing the condition fully often involves lifestyle steps like limiting sodium, exercising, and quitting smoking.
