Spironolactone falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Casein Peptides interacts with.

Theoretically, combining these casein peptides with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Clinical research shows that some casein peptides, including the lactotripeptides isoleucine-proline-proline (IPP) and valine-proline-proline (VPP), can modestly reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertension.

Here's the simple version: casein peptides may gently lower blood pressure on their own. Since spironolactone already works to bring blood pressure down (and helps your body shed extra fluid), stacking the two could nudge your numbers a little lower than you expect. Spironolactone isn't a prodrug, so there's no activation step to worry about here, this is just two blood-pressure-lowering effects adding up.

For most people the effect is mild, but watch for signs of too low blood pressure: dizziness, lightheadedness when standing, or feeling unusually tired. Food amounts of dairy won't matter, it's the concentrated supplement that's in question. The evidence is modest, so don't be alarmed, but please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before adding these peptides, especially since spironolactone also affects your potassium.

About Spironolactone

What Is Spironolactone Used For?

Brand names: Aldactone, Spiroton, Carospir

Spironolactone tablets (including Aldactone) are used to treat moderate-to-severe heart failure, high blood pressure, and fluid retention (edema) caused by liver cirrhosis or nephrotic syndrome. They are also used to diagnose and manage primary hyperaldosteronism — a condition where the adrenal glands produce too much of the hormone aldosterone.

Spironolactone oral suspension shares several of these uses — heart failure, high blood pressure, and edema from liver cirrhosis — but is not the same as Aldactone and is not therapeutically interchangeable with it. Your prescriber will choose the right form for your situation.
