Quinapril falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Casein Peptides interacts with.

Theoretically, combining these casein peptides with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Clinical research shows that some casein peptides, including the lactotripeptides isoleucine-proline-proline (IPP) and valine-proline-proline (VPP), can modestly reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertension.

Here's the thing with Quinapril: it's an ACE inhibitor, meaning it lowers blood pressure by blocking that same ACE enzyme. Interestingly, the lactotripeptides in casein peptides (IPP and VPP) seem to nudge that enzyme a little too. So you've got two things gently pulling in the same direction, which can add up to a stronger blood pressure drop than you'd expect from your medicine alone.

In real life that might show up as feeling lightheaded, dizzy, or woozy when you stand up, or being more tired than usual. The effect from casein peptides is modest and the research is only fair quality, so this isn't a reason to panic. Still, if you want to add these supplements, check with your pharmacist or doctor first, and don't change your Quinapril on your own.

What Is Quinapril Used For?

Brand names: Accupril, Accupro

Quinapril tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack. Quinapril may be used alone or combined with a thiazide diuretic (water pill) when one medication isn't enough.

Quinapril tablets are also used in the management of heart failure as an add-on therapy alongside other standard treatments such as diuretics and/or digitalis.
