Casein Peptides and Fenofibrate

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Fenofibrate and Casein Peptides in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Casein Peptides safety at a glance

Pregnancy Use caution Not enough reliable safety data, so it is best to avoid concentrated supplements unless advised by your doctor.
Breastfeeding Use caution Safety of supplement doses is not well studied, so caution is advised.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

How we checked

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Fenofibrate

Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Fenofibrate is filed under 3 classifications — cytochrome p450 2c9 (cyp2c9) inhibitors, hepatotoxic drugs, oral drugs. Casein Peptides has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being antihypertensive drugs (moderate) — and none of Fenofibrate’s classifications are among them.

Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

What Fenofibrate’s Own FDA Label Lists

This is not an interaction — none of it involves Casein Peptides. These are the most notable effects listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Fenofibrate’s own FDA label, for the medication by itself. Knowing the drug’s own list makes it easier to work out the likely cause if something new turns up while you take both. 7 of them are worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

  • Pancreatitis Worth acting on
  • Kidney problems Worth acting on
  • Anemia Worth acting on
  • Hives Worth acting on
  • Liver problems Worth acting on
  • An allergic reaction Worth acting on
  • Sun sensitivity
  • A stuffy or runny nose
  • Back pain

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Fenofibrate. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 35,249 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Fenofibrate that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Casein Peptides’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Casein Peptides side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Casein Peptides has no side effects.

Overlapping uses

What Fenofibrate Is Prescribed For, and What Casein Peptides Has Been Studied For

These two come up together because they touch the same health topic — not because they do the same job. Fenofibrate is a prescription medicine with approved uses on its FDA label. Casein Peptides is a supplement: what follows is what researchers have looked at it for, and how strong that evidence is.

Fenofibrate is prescribed for: Fenofibrate is used alongside a cholesterol-lowering diet in adults to improve abnormal lipid levels. Tricor (tablet) and fenofibrate tablets are indicated to lower LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol), total cholesterol, triglycerides, and apolipoprotein B, and to raise HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol) in adults with primary hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol) or mixed dyslipidemia (mixed abnormal lipid levels). They are also used to treat severe hypertriglyceridemia (very high triglycerides). Antara and Lipofen (capsules) are indicated to reduce triglyceride levels in adults with severe hypertriglyceridemia, and to lower LDL cholesterol in adults with primary hyperlipidemia when other recommended LDL-lowering therapies cannot be used.

    Casein Peptides for diabetes

Consuming casein peptides with carbohydrates may be beneficial for reducing postprandial glucose and insulin levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. Casein peptides have also been evaluated for the prevention of type 1 diabetes in infants, with inconclusive results.

    Casein Peptides for hyperlipidemia

Low quality research suggests that oral casein peptides are not beneficial in patients with hyperlipidemia.

Effectiveness ratings and the research summaries above are the verbatim record from the Natural Medicines database, which grades evidence from “Effective” down to “Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate”. A rating below the top of that scale means researchers have looked at it — not that it works, and never that it can stand in for a prescribed medicine. Do not stop or replace Fenofibrate on your own; if you are taking Casein Peptides for the same health topic, tell your prescriber, especially if the medicine is being adjusted to a target.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Fenofibrate page

“Fenofibrate (Tricor, Antara) is a cholesterol and triglyceride medicine that can strain the liver on its own, so this list of 59 supplements deserves genuine care rather than a shrug. Most of it, 38 ingredients, involves herbs that also stress the liver, ashwagandha among them, and stacking those effects is the risk that matters most h…”

About Casein Peptides

What is Casein Peptides?

  • High blood pressure
  • Stress and relaxation
  • Sleep support
  • General wellness/protein supplement

Casein peptides are small protein fragments made from milk casein, often studied for mild blood pressure support and relaxation. The evidence is limited and mostly modest, so they should not replace proven treatments. People with milk allergy should avoid them, and anyone with a health condition should check with a pharmacist or doctor first.

Casein Peptides: dosing

There is no official or standardized dose of casein peptides.
