Equagesic is a combination product, and one piece of it, meprobamate, is a calming, sedative-type medicine that slows down the nervous system. That's the part that matters here. In lab and animal studies, cnidium has shown its own sedative and sleep-promoting effects, likely from its coumarin compounds. So on paper, putting the two together could add up and make you feel more drowsy than expected.

What that might look like for you: extra sleepiness, dizziness, slowed reactions, or feeling foggy, which is risky if you're driving. I'll be honest though, this is only a theoretical concern from early research, not from human studies, so the real-world risk isn't well proven. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Laboratory research shows that osthol, a constituent of cnidium, inhibits blood clotting and the activity of platelets. Theoretically, cnidium might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

The product you're asking about (Equagesic) is a combination that includes aspirin, and aspirin is the key piece here. Aspirin already thins the blood by making your platelets less sticky. In lab and animal studies, a compound in cnidium called osthole appears to do something similar, slowing clotting and platelet activity. Stacked together, the worry is that they could add up and raise your bleeding risk.

What that might look like in real life: easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or stomach upset and bleeding (aspirin is already hard on the stomach lining). To be clear, this concern comes only from laboratory research, not human studies, so it's theoretical. Still, since bleeding is the issue, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them rather than guessing.
