Aprocitentan (Tryvio) is a blood pressure medicine, usually added on when other treatments haven't gotten your numbers low enough. The concern here is a simple additive one: coconut water may nudge blood pressure down a little on its own, so pairing it with a drug already lowering your pressure could, in theory, bring it down more than expected.

To be clear, this is a theoretical interaction based on how these things work, not something firmly proven, so there's no need to panic. If you drink a lot of coconut water, just keep an eye out for signs your pressure dipped too low, like dizziness, lightheadedness when standing, or feeling unusually tired. An occasional glass is unlikely to cause trouble. Since aprocitentan is newer, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor to be safe.

Tryvio (aprocitentan) is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults. It is always used together with other blood pressure medicines — not as a stand-alone treatment — and is specifically for people whose blood pressure remains too high despite being on other drugs.

Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular events such as strokes and heart attacks. Tryvio is not a first-choice blood pressure medicine; it is intended for patients with hard-to-control high blood pressure who need an additional option.
