Here's the simple version: methyldopa already works to bring your blood pressure down by relaxing your blood vessels. Coconut water, in some early studies, seems to nudge blood pressure down a little on its own, partly thanks to its potassium. Put the two together and the effects could stack, so in theory your pressure might dip a bit lower than expected.

If that happens, you might notice dizziness, lightheadedness, feeling faint when you stand up, or extra tiredness, which methyldopa can already cause. The good news is this is only a theoretical, mild concern, and an occasional glass for hydration is unlikely to cause trouble for most folks. If you drink it daily or have kidney issues, just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up first.
