Here's the simple version: Valsartan already lowers your blood pressure by relaxing your blood vessels. Some early research suggests coconut water may nudge blood pressure down a little on its own. So when you put the two together, the worry is that your readings could dip lower than expected. If that happens, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, tired, or a bit wobbly when you stand up quickly.

I want to be honest that this is mostly theoretical, based on how these things work rather than strong studies, so an occasional glass usually isn't a big deal. One thing worth flagging: valsartan can raise your potassium, and coconut water is naturally high in potassium too. If you drink it often, or have any kidney concerns, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Valsartan

What Is Valsartan Used For?

Brand names: Diovan, Prexxartan

Valsartan is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children, heart failure in adults, and to lower the risk of cardiovascular death in adults who have had a heart attack and have reduced heart function. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack.

Diovan (valsartan) tablets are approved to treat high blood pressure in children as young as 1 year old. Valsartan tablets (generic) are approved for children 6 years and older. Valsartan oral solution is specifically indicated for patients with heart failure or post-heart attack left ventricular dysfunction who are unable to swallow tablets.
