ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Acetaminophen, Doxylamine, Pseudoephedrine
Acetaminophen, Doxylamine, Pseudoephedrine falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Deanol interacts with.
Deanol is thought to increase acetylcholine levels.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the idea with this one. The piece of your nighttime sinus product that matters here is the doxylamine, an antihistamine that works by blocking acetylcholine activity (that's what makes it dry you up and feel drowsy). Deanol may nudge acetylcholine levels upward, so in theory it could push back against doxylamine and make it a touch less effective, meaning you might notice a little less of the sleepiness or drying effect you were after.
Honestly though, this is a theoretical concern based on how these compounds work, not something well documented in real people. It's rated minor and unlikely. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but it's always worth a quick word with your pharmacist before pairing them.
