Here's the basic idea with darifenacin (Enablex). This medicine calms an overactive bladder by blocking acetylcholine, the very same brain and body chemical that deanol (DMAE) is thought to raise. So in theory, they push in opposite directions. If deanol nudges acetylcholine levels up, it could in principle work against darifenacin and make it a little less effective, meaning you might notice more of that urgency, frequency, or leaking you're trying to control.

I want to be honest though, this is a theoretical concern based on how the two work, not something we see causing real problems in patients. Deanol's actual effect on acetylcholine in people is uncertain. Still, if you start deanol and feel your bladder symptoms creeping back, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

All supported formulations — Darifenacin, Darifenacin 7.5 mg, and Darifenacin 15 mg extended-release tablets — are approved for this same use.
