Naloxegol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Dhea interacts with.

Theoretically, DHEA might increase the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Some preliminary evidence shows that DHEA may inhibit CYP3A4; however, the clinical significance of this potential interaction is not known.

Here's the gist for Movantik (naloxegol), which helps relieve the constipation that opioid pain medicines can cause. Your body clears naloxegol mainly through a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. There's some early, fairly weak evidence that DHEA may slow that enzyme down a bit. If it does, naloxegol could build up a little more than usual, which might make side effects like stomach pain, cramping, diarrhea, or gas more likely.

I want to be honest though, this is mostly theoretical and based on thin, anecdotal data, so we don't really know if it matters in real life. It's not a reason to panic. If you take both, just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up so they can keep an eye on how you're feeling.

What Is Naloxegol Used For?

Brand name: Movantik

Movantik (naloxegol) is used to treat opioid-induced constipation (OIC) — constipation caused by opioid pain medications — in adults who have chronic non-cancer pain. It is also approved for adults with chronic pain related to prior cancer or its treatment, as long as they don't need frequent (roughly weekly) increases in their opioid dose.

It is not indicated for constipation from other causes, and it is not approved for use in children.
