Flaxseed + Dapagliflozin
Dapagliflozin brand name: Farxiga.
Flaxseed has a moderate interaction with Dapagliflozin. Theoretically, flaxseed might have additive effects when used with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk for hypoglycemia.

ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Dapagliflozin
Dapagliflozin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Flaxseed interacts with.
Some clinical research suggests that flaxseed can lower blood glucose levels.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the simple version: flaxseed may gently nudge your blood sugar down on its own. Since Farxiga (dapagliflozin) already works to lower blood sugar by helping your kidneys flush extra glucose out in your urine, adding flaxseed could make that lowering effect a little stronger. In theory, that raises the chance of hypoglycemia, with symptoms like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling unusually tired or confused.
The good news is this signal is modest. The research behind it is fairly limited, and small food amounts of flaxseed (like a sprinkle on oatmeal) are unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated supplement doses are more of a question mark. If you want to use flaxseed regularly, check in with your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your sugar readings.

- Constipation and digestive health
- High cholesterol
- Heart health

It is generally safe as a food, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it as a supplement, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
About Dapagliflozin
What Is Dapagliflozin Used For?
Brand name: Farxiga
Dapagliflozin is used for several serious conditions. It helps improve blood sugar control in adults and children aged 10 and older with type 2 diabetes (alongside diet and exercise). It also reduces the risk of hospitalization for heart failure in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors.
Farxiga (dapagliflozin) is additionally approved to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death, hospitalization, and urgent visits due to heart failure in adults with heart failure — and to slow the progression of chronic kidney disease, including reducing the risk of kidney failure and cardiovascular death, in adults with chronic kidney disease at risk of getting worse.

Dapagliflozin Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Dapagliflozin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Flaxseed — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
