Dr. Brian Staiger, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Twynsta combines two blood pressure medicines: telmisartan (an ARB) and amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker). Both work to bring your numbers down. Here's the thing about flaxseed: when people eat it daily for a few months, studies show it can gently lower blood pressure on its own. So when you stack that small effect on top of your Twynsta, the two could add up.

For most folks this is mild, but if your pressure dips too low you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or wobbly when you stand up fast. This is more of a theoretical concern based on how things work, not a strong warning. A sprinkle of flaxseed on your food is unlikely to matter much, but if you're taking concentrated daily supplements, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your readings.
