Theoretically, hydroxycitric acid (HCA), the main active ingredient in garcinia, might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
HCA inhibits platelet aggregation in vitro. The inhibitory effect seems to be greater in platelets extracted from diabetic subjects than non-diabetic subjects.

Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the piece to keep an eye on with Synalgos DC: it contains aspirin, which already thins your blood a bit by making platelets less sticky. Garcinia's main compound, hydroxycitric acid, has shown in lab dishes that it can also slow platelets down. Put the two together and, in theory, you could be a little more prone to bleeding or bruising than aspirin alone would cause.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. It's a theoretical concern based on test-tube work, not real patient reports, so don't panic. Still, watch for easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or dark stools. If you notice any of that, or you're on Synalgos DC regularly, check in with your pharmacist or doctor before adding a garcinia supplement.
