Entrectinib falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Garcinia interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use with other potentially hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of developing liver damage.
There have been reports of acute hepatitis with elevated liver enzymes associated with garcinia, when taken alone or in combination with other ingredients. Case reports collected from the Drug Induced Liver Injury Network suggest this risk may be greater in people who carry the HLA B*35:01 allele.

Here's the thing to keep in mind with Garcinia and your entrectinib (Rozlytrek): this isn't about one canceling out the other or making the cancer drug stronger. Both of them can be tough on the liver on their own, so the concern is the two together adding up to more strain than either alone.

Entrectinib already carries a known risk of raising liver enzymes, and there are case reports of Garcinia causing liver inflammation (hepatitis), even by itself. Watch for things like yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain on your right side, nausea, or unusual tiredness. To be fair, this warning is theoretical, based on how each is known to affect the liver, not on studies of them combined. Since your oncology team already monitors your liver, please check with them before adding Garcinia.

Garcinia is a tropical fruit whose rind contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA), widely marketed for weight loss and appetite control. The scientific evidence is weak and mixed, with most studies showing only small or no meaningful weight effects, and rare reports of liver problems raise safety concerns. What Is Entrectinib Used For?

Brand name: Rozlytrek

Rozlytrek is used to treat adult patients with ROS1-positive metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) — a type of lung cancer where the ROS1 gene is rearranged — as confirmed by an FDA-approved test.

Rozlytrek is also approved for adult and pediatric patients older than 1 month with solid tumors that have an NTRK gene fusion (a specific genetic alteration), detected by an FDA-approved test, that have spread or cannot be removed without causing serious harm, and have worsened after prior treatment or have no good treatment alternatives. This NTRK indication was granted accelerated approval based on tumor response rates; continued approval may depend on results from confirmatory trials.
