Garcinia + Pyrazinamide
Pyrazinamide brand name: Tebrazid.
Garcinia has a moderate interaction with Pyrazinamide. Theoretically, concomitant use with other potentially hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of developing liver damage.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Pyrazinamide
Pyrazinamide falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Garcinia interacts with.
There have been reports of acute hepatitis with elevated liver enzymes associated with garcinia, when taken alone or in combination with other ingredients. Case reports collected from the Drug Induced Liver Injury Network suggest this risk may be greater in people who carry the HLA B*35:01 allele.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to know about pairing Garcinia with pyrazinamide: this isn't a case where one changes the levels of the other. Instead, the worry is that both can be tough on your liver, and stacking two liver stressors together may raise the odds of liver trouble. Pyrazinamide is well known for occasionally causing liver inflammation, and there have been case reports of Garcinia doing the same, sometimes leading to hepatitis.
I'll be honest, this concern is mostly theoretical and based on how each affects the liver, not on strong studies of the two together. Still, while you're on TB treatment your doctor is already watching your liver closely. I'd skip the Garcinia and mention it to your doctor or pharmacist. Watch for yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual fatigue.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Pyrazinamide page
“Pyrazinamide is one of the core tuberculosis drugs, and because treatment runs for months while the liver already carries the drug's own strain, the 102 supplements and herbs on file here warrant real caution. Thirty-eight of them add their own liver stress, and three of the four major-rated entries sit in that group, including somethi…”

About Garcinia
What is Garcinia?
- Weight loss
- Appetite suppression
- Curbing sugar and carb cravings
- Supporting metabolism
- Traditional cooking and souring agent
Garcinia is a tropical fruit whose rind contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA), widely marketed for weight loss and appetite control. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before trying it, especially if you have liver issues, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
About Pyrazinamide
What Is Pyrazinamide Used For?
Brand name: Tebrazid
Pyrazinamide tablets are used to treat active tuberculosis (TB) in adults and children. It is always used in combination with other anti-TB medicines — never alone. The standard CDC-recommended approach uses pyrazinamide as part of a 6-month regimen, typically for the first 2 months.
It is also used when initial TB treatment with other drugs has failed. People with drug-resistant TB or with HIV infection may need a treatment plan specifically tailored to their situation, which can include pyrazinamide as a key part of the regimen.
