Orphenadrine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2B6 (CYP2B6) SUBSTRATES — the group Hibiscus Sabdariffa interacts with.

Theoretically, Hibiscus sabdariffa extract might reduce the metabolism of CYP2B6 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Hibiscus sabdariffa calyx extract inhibits CYP2B6. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for these two together. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP2B6 to help break down orphenadrine. In test-tube studies, concentrated hibiscus extract slowed that same enzyme down a bit. In theory, that could let orphenadrine clear a little slower and build up slightly, which might nudge up its usual side effects like drowsiness, dry mouth, blurry vision, or feeling lightheaded.

The reassuring part: this is purely a lab-based, theoretical concern and has never actually been reported in people. The rating on file is minor. A cup or two of tart hibiscus tea is very unlikely to cause trouble. If you're using a strong hibiscus supplement, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor first.

Orphenadrine citrate is used to ease discomfort from acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions — things like muscle pain and stiffness. It is always used as part of a broader treatment plan that includes rest and physical therapy, not as a stand-alone cure.

Both the extended-release tablet and the injection form are approved for this use. Neither form directly relaxes tight muscles — the relief it provides is thought to be related to its pain-relieving (analgesic) properties.
