Aspirin, Codeine Phosphate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Higenamine interacts with.

Theoretically, higenamine might increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
In vitro research shows that higenamine inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the wrinkle with this combo: the codeine part of your aspirin/codeine pill is actually a prodrug. Your body has to convert it using an enzyme called CYP2D6 into morphine, which is what gives you the pain relief. Lab studies suggest higenamine may block that same enzyme. If it slows the conversion, you could get less pain relief from the codeine, not more, since less morphine gets made.

Honestly though, this is only seen in test-tube research, not in real people, so it's theoretical. I'd be more concerned about higenamine itself, since it's a heart and blood-pressure stimulant with shaky safety data. Please run this past your pharmacist or doctor before pairing the two.

Animal research shows that higenamine inhibits platelet aggregation and reduces the size of thrombus formation.

Here's the thing to keep in mind with this combo: your medicine contains aspirin, which already thins the blood a bit by keeping platelets from clumping together. The concern on file is that higenamine may do something similar. In animal studies it slowed platelet activity and reduced clot formation, so stacking the two could, in theory, raise your odds of easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding that's slow to stop.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It's theoretical and based on lab and animal data, not solid human studies, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, higenamine carries its own heart and blood pressure worries, and its labels are often inaccurate. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them.
