Hydralazine falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Hoodia interacts with.

Clinical research shows that hoodia can increase blood pressure. Theoretically, concomitant use of hoodia with antihypertensive drugs might decrease the effectiveness of the antihypertensive drugs and increase the risk of hypertension. Some antihypertensive drugs include captopril (Capoten), enalapril (Vasotec), losartan (Cozaar), valsartan (Diovan), diltiazem (Cardizem), Amlodipine (Norvasc), hydrochlorothiazide (HydroDiuril), furosemide (Lasix), and many others.

Here's the concern with pairing hoodia and hydralazine. Hydralazine works by relaxing your blood vessels so blood flows more easily, which brings your pressure down. Some research suggests hoodia can actually nudge blood pressure up. If that happens, it could work against your hydralazine and leave your blood pressure higher than you and your doctor want.

I'll be honest: this is mostly a theoretical caution based on how these two seem to behave, not strong proof in people taking them together. Still, if you decide to try hoodia, it's worth checking your blood pressure at home and looking for clues that it's running high, like headaches or feeling flushed. Please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before starting hoodia rather than changing anything on your own.

Hydralazine tablets are used to treat essential hypertension (high blood pressure), either alone or alongside other blood pressure medications.
