Hydralazine, Hydrochlorothiazide falls under DIURETIC DRUGS — the group Ilex Guayusa interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use might increase the risk of hypokalemia.
Ilex guayusa contains caffeine. Caffeine, especially in excessive amounts, can reduce potassium levels due to stimulation of the sodium-potassium pump. Diuretics can also cause lower potassium levels.

Here's the deal with this combo. The hydrochlorothiazide part of your pill is a water tablet, and one thing it can do is gently lower your potassium level over time. Guayusa is basically a caffeine tea, and caffeine (especially in heavy amounts) may also nudge potassium a little lower. So in theory, pairing them could add up and leave your potassium too low.

I want to be honest about how strong this is: it's a theoretical concern based on how these things work, not something proven to cause trouble in most people. An occasional cup likely won't matter much. But if you notice muscle cramps, weakness, or an odd heartbeat, or if you drink a lot of guayusa daily, check in with your pharmacist or doctor.
