Captopril, Hydrochlorothiazide falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Java Tea interacts with.

Some preliminary clinical evidence suggests that Java tea has antihypertensive effects. Further, animal research suggests that Java tea has diuretic properties. Theoretically, taking Java tea with other antihypertensive drugs might increase the effects and risk for hypotension with these drugs.

Here's the thing to keep in mind: your Capozide already does two jobs at once. The captopril relaxes your blood vessels, and the hydrochlorothiazide is a water pill that pushes out extra fluid and salt. Java Tea is thought to act as a mild diuretic too, and a little early research hints it may gently lower blood pressure on its own.

So stacking them could nudge your blood pressure and fluid loss a bit too far. You might feel lightheaded, dizzy, or faint, especially standing up quickly, and you could get dehydrated. Honestly, this is more of a theoretical concern based on how these work, not strong human proof. Still, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Java Tea, and don't change your blood pressure pills on your own.

What Is Captopril and Hydrochlorothiazide Used For?

Brand names: Capozide, Acezide

Captopril and hydrochlorothiazide tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). The two ingredients work together to lower blood pressure more effectively than either one alone.

This combination may be started as initial therapy or substituted when a patient has already been adjusted on both ingredients separately. It is approved for patients with normal kidney function, and is used more cautiously in those with impaired kidney function.
