Here's the idea with Uplizna (inebilizumab) and jiaogulan. Uplizna is an infused antibody that lowers certain immune cells (B cells) to calm conditions like neuromyelitis optica. Jiaogulan, on the other hand, may gently rev up the immune system based on some lab and animal work. So in theory, taking jiaogulan could push against what Uplizna is trying to do and make it work a little less well.

I want to be honest: this is a theoretical concern drawn from how these compounds behave, not from people taking them together. We don't have real-world reports of it backfiring. Still, since Uplizna controls a serious condition, I'd talk with your neurologist or pharmacist before adding jiaogulan rather than starting it on your own.
