Here's the simple version. Cortisone acetate works partly by calming down an overactive immune system, which is why it helps with things like inflammation, allergic reactions, and certain autoimmune flare-ups. Jiaogulan seems to do the opposite. Some lab and animal research suggests it can nudge the immune system to be more active. So in theory, taking the two together might work against each other and make your cortisone a bit less effective.

If that happened, you might notice your original symptoms (swelling, joint pain, rashes, or flare-ups) creeping back. I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on how these compounds behave, not strong proof in people. Cortisone is not a prodrug, so this isn't about activation. Before adding jiaogulan, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
