Here's the simple version: bivalirudin (Angiomax) is a powerful blood thinner given through an IV, usually during heart procedures like angioplasty or stent placement. It works by directly blocking a clotting protein called thrombin. Jiaogulan, on the other hand, may have mild blood-thinning effects of its own, since lab studies suggest it can make platelets (the cells that help form clots) less sticky.

Stack those two together and, in theory, you could nudge your bleeding risk a little higher, things like easier bruising or bleeding that's slower to stop. I'll be honest with you though: this concern comes only from test-tube research, not real patients, so it's far from proven. Since bivalirudin is given in a hospital setting, your care team is already watching you closely. Just be sure to mention any jiaogulan you take to your doctor or pharmacist beforehand.
