Why this applies to Guaifenesin, Hydrocodone Bitartrate, Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride

Guaifenesin, Hydrocodone Bitartrate, Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group Khat interacts with.

Dr. Brian Staiger, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the thing to focus on with Hycofenix: one of its ingredients, pseudoephedrine, is a decongestant that works a lot like the stimulant chemicals in khat. Khat's main active compound, cathinone, acts like an amphetamine and can push up your heart rate and blood pressure. Stack two stimulants together and you may double up on that effect, which can mean a racing or pounding heart, jitteriness, headache, trouble sleeping, and a spike in blood pressure.

I'll be straight with you, this concern is theoretical, based on how these substances work rather than hard studies. It's also worth remembering khat is illegal in the U.S. and risky on its own. Please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before mixing anything like this.
