Amphetamine Sulfate falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group Khat interacts with.

Cathinone, a constituent of khat, appears to have sympathomimetic effects and can increase blood pressure and heart rate. Theoretically, combining khat with other central nervous system (CNS) stimulant drugs might increase the risk of cardiovascular toxicity. Some CNS stimulants include nicotine, cocaine, sympathomimetic amines, and amphetamines.

Here's the simple version: both khat and your amphetamine push your body in the same direction. Amphetamine sulfate is already a strong stimulant that ramps up dopamine and norepinephrine, which is how it sharpens focus but also speeds up your heart and bumps up blood pressure. Khat contains cathinone, an amphetamine-like chemical that does basically the same thing. Stack them together and you're doubling up on that stimulant push.

The worry here is mostly your heart and blood pressure: racing or pounding heartbeat, chest tightness, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, and spikes in blood pressure. This is a theoretical concern based on how both work, not hard proof, but the logic is solid. On top of that, khat is illegal in the U.S. Please don't combine them, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions.
