Iloprost falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Khat interacts with.

Human research shows that khat and its constituent, cathinone, can increase blood pressure. Theoretically, khat might reduce the effect of antihypertensive drug therapy. Some antihypertensive drugs include captopril (Capoten), enalapril (Vasotec), losartan (Cozaar), valsartan (Diovan), diltiazem (Cardizem), amlodipine (Norvasc), hydrochlorothiazide (HydroDiuril), furosemide (Lasix), and many others.

Here's the simple version: iloprost (Ventavis) works by widening your blood vessels, including the ones in your lungs, to ease the high pressure of pulmonary arterial hypertension. Khat does the opposite. Its stimulant chemicals, mainly cathinone, push your blood pressure up and tighten blood vessels. So khat can work against what iloprost is trying to do, and you might notice more shortness of breath, dizziness, or fatigue as your symptoms creep back.

This concern is based on human studies showing khat raises blood pressure, though the effect on a specific medicine like iloprost is more theoretical. On top of that, khat is illegal in the U.S. and hard on the heart. Please don't use it, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist about any concerns.
