ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin Lispro
Insulin Lispro falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Neem interacts with.
Some clinical research shows that neem can lower blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes, including those already taking metformin.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: neem may lower blood sugar on its own. Insulin lispro is a fast-acting mealtime insulin that already pushes your blood sugar down. Stack the two together and you could end up with more blood sugar lowering than you planned, which raises the chance of a low (hypoglycemia). That can show up as shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling dizzy or weak.
I'll be honest about the evidence though. This concern comes mostly from lab and animal work, plus some small human studies in type 2 diabetes, so it's a possible effect, not a sure thing. If you'd like to try neem, please loop in your doctor or pharmacist first, check your sugars a bit more closely at the start, and don't change your insulin dose on your own.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Insulin Lispro page
“Blood sugar is the entire subject of this list. Insulin lispro (Admelog) is a rapid mealtime insulin dosed to bring glucose down after eating, and the supplements below can shove that same number around, most of them downward, which risks a genuine low.”

About Neem
What is Neem?
- Skin conditions
- Dental and gum health
- Antimicrobial and antiparasitic
- Digestive upset
- Blood sugar support
- Insect repellent/pesticide
Neem is a tree from India used for centuries in traditional medicine, especially for skin, dental, and antimicrobial purposes. Some small studies are promising for oral health and skin, but high-quality human evidence is limited for most uses. Neem oil and seed extracts can be toxic if swallowed, especially in children, so use with caution and talk to your pharmacist or doctor first.

Insulin Lispro Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Insulin Lispro as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Neem — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
