Neem + Torsemide
Torsemide brand names: Demadex, Soaanz.
Neem has a moderate interaction with Torsemide. Theoretically, neem leaf extract might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2C9 substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Torsemide
Torsemide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Neem interacts with.
In vitro research shows that neem leaf methanol extract inhibits CYP2C9 enzymes. So far, this reaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the basic idea with neem and your water pill, torsemide. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP2C9 to break torsemide down. In lab dish studies, neem leaf extract seems to slow that enzyme down. If that happened in your body, torsemide could hang around longer and act stronger than expected.
For torsemide, stronger effect could mean more urination, dizziness or lightheadedness (especially when standing), dehydration, or low potassium or sodium. The honest part: this is only seen in lab and animal research, not in real people, so the risk is theoretical. Food amounts in toothpaste or skin products are very unlikely to matter. Before adding a concentrated neem supplement, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Torsemide page
“Torsemide (Demadex, Soaanz) is a water pill for fluid buildup from heart failure, kidney disease, or liver disease, and its supplement list earns genuine caution, with 10 of the 251 flagged ingredients rated major. Most entries either pile onto its blood-pressure-lowering effect or add extra diuretic action that can pull your potassium…”

About Neem
What is Neem?
- Skin conditions
- Dental and gum health
- Antimicrobial and antiparasitic
- Digestive upset
- Blood sugar support
- Insect repellent/pesticide
Neem is a tree from India used for centuries in traditional medicine, especially for skin, dental, and antimicrobial purposes. Some small studies are promising for oral health and skin, but high-quality human evidence is limited for most uses. Neem oil and seed extracts can be toxic if swallowed, especially in children, so use with caution and talk to your pharmacist or doctor first.
About Torsemide
What Is Torsemide Used For?
Brand names: Demadex, Soaanz
Torsemide tablets are used to treat edema — excess fluid buildup causing swelling — associated with heart failure, renal disease, or hepatic disease. Removing that extra fluid can relieve swelling and make breathing easier.
Torsemide tablets are also used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular events, including strokes and heart attacks. It can be used alone or alongside other blood pressure medications.

Torsemide Is Linked to Lower Levels of 8 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Torsemide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Neem — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
