Here's the short version: the combination pill Maxzide or Dyazide pairs two water pills (hydrochlorothiazide and triamterene) to lower your blood pressure. Some early research hints that noni juice may nudge blood pressure down a little on its own. So if you sip noni regularly while taking this medication, the two could add up and push your pressure a bit lower than intended.

This is theoretical and based only on weak, anecdotal evidence, so I wouldn't panic. Still, watch for signs of blood pressure dipping too low, things like dizziness, lightheadedness when you stand up, feeling faint, or unusual tiredness. If you'd like to try noni, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first, especially since these pills also affect your potassium and kidneys.

Theoretically, combing noni and a potassium-sparing diuretic might increase the risk of hyperkalemia.
Noni juice contains significant amounts of potassium, about 6 mEq/100 mL juice. This may increase the risk for hyperkalemia when used in conjunction with potassium-sparing diuretics, which can also increase potassium levels.

Your combo pill (Dyazide or Maxzide) contains triamterene, a potassium-sparing diuretic. One of its quirks is that it helps your body hold onto potassium instead of flushing it out. Noni juice happens to be fairly rich in potassium itself, so drinking a lot of it on top of triamterene could nudge your potassium level higher than is comfortable.

Too much potassium (called hyperkalemia) can cause muscle weakness, tingling, or an irregular heartbeat, though this is mostly a theoretical concern based on noni's potassium content and a few reports, not strong studies. An occasional glass is unlikely to be a problem, but regular concentrated supplement amounts deserve caution. Check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it, especially if your kidneys aren't perfect.
