Here's the gist with noni and norgestrel (a progestin-only birth control pill, sometimes called the mini-pill). This isn't about noni changing how well your pill prevents pregnancy. The worry is a different one: both noni and hormonal contraceptives can, on rare occasions, be tough on the liver. Stacking them might add up and raise the small chance of liver irritation.

Honestly, this is more of a theory than a proven problem. The evidence is anecdotal, meaning it comes from scattered case reports, not strong studies. Occasional noni juice in food-like amounts is usually fine for most people. Still, if you notice yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual fatigue, check in with your doctor. And if you have any liver concerns, talk with your pharmacist before combining them.

What Is Progestin-Only (norethindrone) Oral Contraceptives Used For?

Norethindrone progestin-only pills — sometimes called the "mini-pill" — are used solely to prevent pregnancy. They do not contain estrogen, which makes them an option for women who cannot or prefer not to use estrogen-containing contraceptives.

When taken perfectly (same time every day, no missed pills), fewer than 1 in 100 women will become pregnant in the first year. With typical use, that number rises to about 9 in 100 — mostly because of late or skipped pills. Consistency is everything with this method.
