Halothane falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Padang Cassia interacts with.

There is some concern that ingesting large amounts of Padang cassia might cause hepatotoxicity in some people. Padang cassia contains coumarin. Coumarin has caused hepatotoxicity in animal models. In otherwise healthy humans, very high doses of coumarin, from 50-7000 mg daily, can result in hepatotoxicity that resolves when coumarin use is discontinued. Lower amounts might also cause liver problems in sensitive people, such as those with liver disease or those taking potentially hepatotoxic agents.

Halothane is an older inhaled anesthetic, the kind you'd only ever get during surgery in a hospital, not something you'd take at home. It's worth knowing because halothane can, in rare cases, stress or injure the liver on its own (a problem called halothane hepatitis). The concern here is about adding a second liver stressor on top of it.

Padang cassia (a cassia cinnamon) naturally contains coumarin, which in large or concentrated supplement doses has been linked to liver irritation. Stacking that with halothane could, in theory, add to the strain on your liver. This is a theoretical concern based on pharmacology, not proven harm, and ordinary cooking amounts of cinnamon are very unlikely to matter. Still, if you have surgery coming up, mention any cinnamon supplements to your anesthesiologist or pharmacist.
