Testosterone Undecanoate falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Padang Cassia interacts with.

There is some concern that ingesting large amounts of Padang cassia might cause hepatotoxicity in some people. Padang cassia contains coumarin. Coumarin has caused hepatotoxicity in animal models. In otherwise healthy humans, very high doses of coumarin, from 50-7000 mg daily, can result in hepatotoxicity that resolves when coumarin use is discontinued. Lower amounts might also cause liver problems in sensitive people, such as those with liver disease or those taking potentially hepatotoxic agents.

Here's the thing to know about pairing concentrated cinnamon supplements with oral testosterone undecanoate (like Jatenzo or Andriol): both can be tough on the liver. Padang cassia naturally contains coumarin, which at high supplement doses has been linked to liver irritation. Oral testosterone is also processed by the liver and carries its own small risk of liver strain. Stacking two liver stressors together could, in theory, add up.

This is a theoretical concern based mostly on how these compounds behave, not strong human studies, so I don't want to alarm you. Cinnamon in your food or a cup of tea is not the worry here. The caution applies to concentrated capsules taken daily. Watch for signs like yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual fatigue, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding a cinnamon supplement.

Testosterone Undecanoate also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.

In vitro research shows that a methanol extract of Padang cassia inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) activity. Theoretically, taking Padang cassia with CYP3A4 substrates might increase the effects and side effects of these substrates.

Here's the gist: oral testosterone undecanoate (like Jatenzo or Andriol) is handled in part by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab tests suggest a concentrated extract of Padang cassia cinnamon may slow that enzyme down. In theory, that could let a little more testosterone hang around in your body, nudging up its effects and side effects. With testosterone that might mean things like acne, oily skin, mood changes, fluid retention, or a higher red blood cell count.

That said, this is based only on test-tube research, not real people, so the risk is mostly theoretical. Sprinkling cinnamon on your oatmeal is very unlikely to matter. The bigger question is concentrated cinnamon capsules. Before adding those, check with your pharmacist or doctor.

About Testosterone Injection

What Is Testosterone Injection Used For?

Brand names: Andriol, Aveed, Jatenzo, Kyzatrex

Testosterone injection is primarily used in men whose bodies do not produce enough testosterone on their own — a condition called hypogonadism. This includes primary hypogonadism (a problem with the testicles themselves, such as from injury, infection, or surgery) and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (caused by problems in the brain's hormone signaling from the hypothalamus or pituitary gland). It is also used to stimulate puberty in carefully selected adolescent males with clearly delayed puberty who have not responded to other support.

Testosterone Enanthate Injection is also approved for use in women with advanced, inoperable metastatic breast cancer (specifically skeletal metastases) who are one to five years past menopause, or in premenopausal women with hormone-responsive breast cancer who have had their ovaries removed. This use should be directed by an oncologist. Aveed (testosterone undecanoate) is specifically approved for male hypogonadism only.
