Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Macimorelin Acetate
Macimorelin Acetate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Padang Cassia interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the quick version. Macimorelin (Macrilen) is a one-time test medicine, not something you take every day. It's used as a single oral dose to check whether your body makes enough growth hormone. Your liver clears it using an enzyme called CYP3A4, and lab studies suggest concentrated cinnamon like Padang cassia may slow that same enzyme down. In theory, that could let more macimorelin linger and slightly nudge up side effects like a metallic or bad taste, headache, dizziness, tiredness, or nausea.
Honestly, this is a low-stakes concern. The evidence is only from test-tube work, and macimorelin is given once for a test, not chronically. Still, accurate test results matter, so just mention any cinnamon supplements to the team running your test. Everyday cinnamon in food is not a worry.

About Padang Cassia
What is Padang Cassia?
- Adding flavor to food
- Digestive upset
- Blood sugar support
- Antimicrobial purposes
- Antioxidant support
Padang Cassia is a type of cinnamon (Indonesian or Korintje cinnamon) grown mainly in Indonesia and used widely as a kitchen spice. As a supplement, evidence for health benefits like blood sugar control is limited and mixed, and like other cassia cinnamons it naturally contains coumarin, which can be harmful to the liver in large amounts. Use food amounts freely, but talk to a pharmacist or doctor before taking concentrated cinnamon supplements.
