Chlordiazepoxide, Clidinium Bromide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Panax Notoginseng interacts with.

Theoretically, taking Panax notoginseng might reduce the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
Animal research shows that administering Panax notoginseng intravenously for 7 days before intraperitoneal injection of caffeine can decrease maximal blood levels of caffeine by 37%. This interaction was attributed to the ability of Panax notoginseng to increase the activity of CYP1A2.

Here's the basic idea with Librax (chlordiazepoxide and clidinium). The chlordiazepoxide part is partly handled by a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. Lab and animal research suggests Panax notoginseng might speed that enzyme up. If that happened in people, your body could clear the chlordiazepoxide a little faster, which in theory might make it work less well for calming stomach-related anxiety and cramping.

I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. It comes only from animal and test-tube studies (one used caffeine, not Librax), so we really can't say it matters in real life. Chlordiazepoxide is not a prodrug, so there's no flip here. If you take both, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor and watch whether your symptoms feel less controlled.

Chlordiazepoxide and clidinium capsules are used to help control both the physical and emotional factors involved in gastrointestinal (digestive) disorders. This includes use as add-on therapy for peptic ulcer, irritable bowel syndrome (also called irritable colon, spastic colon, or mucous colitis), and acute enterocolitis (sudden inflammation of the intestines).

Librax is one brand available in capsule form and is approved for the same set of gastrointestinal uses.
