    “Orally, Panax notoginseng can cause nervousness and insomnia. Intravenously, Panax notoginseng has been reported to cause headache. In a retrospective review of hospital records of 30,884 patients, a specific Xueshuantong injection (XSTI) containing Panax notoginseng saponins was associated with a headache frequency of 0.3% and paresthesia frequency of 0.1%.”

Some Naloxegol Products Have a Food Rule — Panax Notoginseng Should Not Break It

At least one FDA label for a product containing Naloxegol says to take it on an empty stomach. Most supplements — Panax Notoginseng included — are taken with a meal, so the easy mistake is swallowing both together at breakfast. Where that rule applies, keep Naloxegol on its own and move Panax Notoginseng to a meal later in the day.

This may not be true of your version. Food instructions belong to the product, not the ingredient: two Naloxegol products can carry different directions, and extended-release forms often differ from immediate-release ones. What Is Naloxegol Used For?

Brand name: Movantik

Movantik (naloxegol) is used to treat opioid-induced constipation (OIC) — constipation caused by opioid pain medications — in adults who have chronic non-cancer pain. It is also approved for adults with chronic pain related to prior cancer or its treatment, as long as they don't need frequent (roughly weekly) increases in their opioid dose.

It is not indicated for constipation from other causes, and it is not approved for use in children.
