Doxorubicin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Passion Flower interacts with.

Theoretically, passion flower might decrease the effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that passion flower can induce CYP3A4 enzymes, albeit to a much lower degree than rifampin, a known CYP3A4 inducer.

Here's the gist with passion flower and your doxorubicin chemo. Some of doxorubicin is handled by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In lab dish studies (not in people), passion flower seemed to gently speed up that enzyme, which could in theory clear doxorubicin a little faster and slightly soften how well it works. The key word is theoretical. This comes only from test-tube research, the speed-up was much weaker than a true enzyme booster like rifampin, and it's rated a minor concern.

That said, doxorubicin is serious cancer treatment, and you don't want anything possibly nudging its effect. Please don't start passion flower without first running it past your oncologist or pharmacist. They can give you the safe word for your exact regimen.

It is given as part of combination chemotherapy for women with breast cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes after surgery, and it is used for many other cancers — from blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma to solid tumors like bone and soft tissue sarcomas.

It is considered a broad-spectrum cancer fighter, meaning it is active against many different tumor types. It is almost always given alongside other chemotherapy drugs rather than on its own.
