Oliceridine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Passion Flower interacts with.

Theoretically, passion flower might decrease the effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that passion flower can induce CYP3A4 enzymes, albeit to a much lower degree than rifampin, a known CYP3A4 inducer.

Oliceridine (Olinvyk) is a powerful IV opioid given in hospitals for short-term severe pain, and your liver clears it partly through an enzyme called CYP3A4. The thinking here is that passion flower might gently speed that enzyme up, which could in theory help your body break down oliceridine a little faster and slightly soften its pain-relieving effect.

Honestly, I wouldn't lose sleep over this one. The evidence is only from lab and test-tube studies, not real patients, and the effect looked weak. Since oliceridine is given in a monitored hospital setting where doctors adjust your dose to your comfort, any small shift is easily managed. Still, always tell your care team about supplements like passion flower so they have the full picture.

Olinvyk (oliceridine) injection is approved for adults to manage acute pain that is severe enough to require an intravenous opioid analgesic. It is used only when alternative treatments are ineffective, not tolerated, or otherwise unable to provide adequate pain control.

Because of serious risks including addiction, misuse, overdose, and death, Olinvyk is reserved for situations where other pain management options are not sufficient. It is not intended for routine or chronic pain management.
