Clobetasol falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Rabdosia Rubescens interacts with.

Rabdosia rubescens might increase levels of p-glycoprotein substrates. In vitro research shows that Rabdosia rubescens extract inhibits p-glycoprotein levels and activity. Drugs that might be affected include some chemotherapeutic agents (doxorubicin, etoposide, paclitaxel, vinblastine, vincristine, vindesine), antifungals (ketoconazole, itraconazole), protease inhibitors (amprenavir, indinavir, nelfinavir, saquinavir), H2 antagonists (cimetidine, ranitidine), some calcium channel blockers (diltiazem, verapamil), digoxin, corticosteroids, erythromycin, cisapride (Propulsid), fexofenadine (Allegra), cyclosporine, loperamide (Imodium), quinidine, and others.

Here's the good news on this pairing. The concern on file is that Rabdosia rubescens may block a transporter called P-glycoprotein, which in theory could let certain drugs build up. But this evidence comes only from test-tube and lab work, not from people, so it's quite weak.

More importantly, Clobetasol is a topical steroid (a cream, gel, or scalp solution you put on your skin). Very little is absorbed into your bloodstream when used as directed, so a transporter interaction is unlikely to mean much for you. The main thing to watch with clobetasol is local effects like skin thinning or irritation, especially with overuse. Still, since this herb hasn't been well studied for safety, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
