Here's the honest picture on combining rauwolscine with Ziac (bisoprolol and hydrochlorothiazide). The interaction we have on file is about rauwolscine possibly lowering the seizure threshold, meaning it could in theory make convulsions a bit easier to trigger. But this rests on a single animal study using a different drug, so for a person it's very theoretical and not well proven.

What I'd actually pay attention to is the bigger mismatch in purpose. Ziac is meant to calm your heart and lower blood pressure, while rauwolscine is a stimulant that can raise heart rate, push blood pressure up, and cause jitteriness or anxiety. It works against what your medication is trying to do. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially with any heart concerns.

Here's the bigger-picture concern with Ziac (bisoprolol plus hydrochlorothiazide) and rauwolscine. Setting aside enzymes for a moment, rauwolscine is a stimulant that can raise your heart rate and blood pressure. Bisoprolol is a beta-blocker meant to do the opposite, so the supplement may work directly against what your medication is trying to accomplish.

On the metabolism side, there's a theoretical note that rauwolscine (a cousin of yohimbine) might block the CYP2D6 enzyme. This is based only on lab data with yohimbine, not on real patients, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, given the stimulant effect alone, I'd check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining these, especially since you're being treated for blood pressure.
