A review of adverse event reports in Poland identified cases of excessive sedation, myoclonus, hypotension, and hallucinations when rhodiola was taken with haloperidol, diazepam, or alprazolam.

Here's the short version: the codeine in Brontex or Robitussin AC is a cough suppressant that also calms the central nervous system, so it can leave you feeling sleepy or foggy. Rhodiola is thought to nudge brain chemistry too, and the worry is that pairing the two could stack those calming effects. In practice that might mean more drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling unsteady on your feet.

That said, this is a minor, theoretical concern. It comes from a handful of case reports involving stronger sedatives like diazepam and haloperidol, not codeine specifically, so the evidence is thin. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but do let your pharmacist or doctor know you're using both, especially before driving or having a drink.
