A review of adverse event reports in Poland identified cases of excessive sedation, myoclonus, hypotension, and hallucinations when rhodiola was taken with haloperidol, diazepam, or alprazolam.

Here's the simple version: felbamate works in your brain to calm down the activity that triggers seizures, and on its own it can sometimes leave you feeling drowsy or tired. Rhodiola is thought to nudge brain chemistry too, so the worry is that pairing them might add up to a bit more sleepiness or a foggy, off-balance feeling.

I want to be honest about how weak this is. The concern comes from a handful of reported cases with very different sedative drugs, not felbamate itself, so this is more theoretical than proven. Felbamate is not a prodrug, so we're not talking about it getting weaker. If you're considering rhodiola, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first, and watch for extra grogginess.

Rhodiola is an herb traditionally used to fight fatigue and help the body cope with stress. About Felbamate

What Is Felbamate Used For?

Brand name: Felbatol

Felbamate is not a first-line seizure medication. It is used only when a person's epilepsy has not responded well enough to other treatments and the seizures are severe enough that the serious risks of this drug are considered acceptable.

In adults, felbamate can be used alone or alongside other antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) to treat partial seizures (seizures that start in one part of the brain), with or without spreading to become a full seizure. In children, felbamate is used as an add-on treatment for both partial and generalized seizures linked to Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a severe form of childhood epilepsy. Felbatol is specifically labeled for these uses in both adults and children.
