Belumosudil Mesylate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Rooibos interacts with.

Theoretically, taking rooibos with CYP3A4 substrates may increase the effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that the methanol extract of rooibos leaves and stems strongly inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme activity.

Here's the gist for Rezurock (belumosudil). Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to break this medicine down. In lab tests (test tube, not people), a concentrated rooibos extract slowed that enzyme down quite a bit. If the same thing happened in your body, belumosudil could clear more slowly and build up, which might mean stronger effects and more side effects like nausea, tiredness, headache, swelling, or muscle and joint aches.

The good news: this is theoretical and based only on lab work, and a normal cup of rooibos tea is very unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated extracts are the bigger question mark. Since belumosudil is a serious GVHD medicine, please check with your transplant team or pharmacist before adding rooibos supplements.
