Here's the simple version: methylphenidate (the active ingredient in your medication) is already a stimulant that revs up your nervous system. Securinega suffruticosa contains an alkaloid called securinine that does something similar, making nerves fire more easily. So you'd essentially be stacking two stimulants on top of each other. This isn't about one slowing down or speeding up how your body clears the other. It's that their effects can simply add up.

If they combine, you could see more of the things methylphenidate can already cause: a racing or pounding heart, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, and anxiety. In a worst case, securinine itself has been linked to seizures. This is a theoretical concern based on how these compounds work, not solid human data, but it's still worth taking seriously. Please don't combine them without talking to your doctor or pharmacist first.
