Sesame + Dulaglutide
Dulaglutide brand name: Trulicity.
Sesame has a moderate interaction with Dulaglutide. Taking sesame oil with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Dulaglutide
Dulaglutide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Sesame interacts with.
Clinical studies show that sesame oil can decrease plasma glucose and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels. Some clinical research in patients taking glibenclamide shows that using sesame oil or a blend of sesame oil and rice bran oil in place of other oil for cooking reduces plasma glucose more than glibenclamide alone. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: sesame (especially sesame oil used in place of your regular cooking oil) may have a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own. When you stack that on top of Trulicity (dulaglutide), which is already working to bring your numbers down, the two together could push your blood sugar a little lower than expected. That can show up as shakiness, sweating, hunger, dizziness, or feeling foggy.
I want to be honest about the strength here: this is mostly theoretical, based on how these things work and a few small studies, not strong proof. A drizzle of sesame oil on dinner or some seeds on a salad is very unlikely to be a problem. If you start using sesame oil as your main cooking oil or take concentrated sesame supplements, just keep an eye on your glucose readings and check with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Dulaglutide page
“Because dulaglutide (Trulicity) already lowers blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes, nearly every entry on this page deserves genuine respect, and one demands it outright. Almost all of these supplements pull glucose in one direction or the other, so the danger that matters most is hypoglycemia, blood sugar dropping too low.”

About Sesame
What is Sesame?
- Heart and cholesterol health
- Blood pressure support
- Source of healthy fats and minerals
- Skin and hair care (topical oil)
- Antioxidant support
- Cooking and nutrition
Sesame is a nutritious seed and oil widely used in cooking and traditional medicine, and it provides healthy fats, fiber, and antioxidant compounds called lignans. Some early research suggests sesame may modestly help with cholesterol and blood pressure, but the evidence is limited. Sesame is also a common, sometimes serious, food allergen, so people with seed allergies should be careful.
About Dulaglutide Injection
What Is Dulaglutide Injection Used For?
Brand name: Trulicity
Trulicity (dulaglutide) injection is used alongside diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults and children 10 years and older with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is not for type 1 diabetes.
Trulicity is also used in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors to lower the risk of major heart events — specifically cardiovascular death, non-fatal heart attack, or non-fatal stroke.

Dulaglutide Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Dulaglutide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Sesame — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
