Vedolizumab falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Spearmint interacts with.

Theoretically, high doses of spearmint might increase the risk of liver damage when taken with hepatotoxic drugs.
Animal research suggests that drinking spearmint tea for 30 days can increase markers of liver damage, including aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and cause liver degeneration and necrosis, in a dose-dependent manner. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the simple version: this isn't about spearmint changing how Entyvio works in your body. Vedolizumab is an antibody given by infusion, and it isn't broken down by the usual liver enzymes the way many pills are. The concern instead is that both items can, in theory, put a little stress on the liver. Stacking them could in theory add up.

I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. The worry comes from animal studies where high doses of spearmint raised liver enzymes (AST and ALT). This hasn't been seen in people, and normal spearmint tea or cooking amounts are very unlikely to matter. Concentrated spearmint supplements are the real question mark. Just mention any supplement to your GI team so they can keep an eye on your routine liver labs.

What Is Vedolizumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Entyvio

Entyvio (vedolizumab) is used to treat adults with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis and moderately to severely active Crohn's disease — two forms of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that cause chronic inflammation in the digestive tract.

Both conditions are treated with Entyvio given as an intravenous (IV) infusion or, after initial IV doses, as a subcutaneous (under-the-skin) injection.
