Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Enoxaparin
Enoxaparin falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Sweet Clover interacts with.
Fresh sweet clover contains coumarinic acids, which are converted to free coumarins during drying. Dicoumarol, which has anticoagulant activity, also has been found in some sweet clover preparations and can be formed if fresh sweet clover is allowed to spoil.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to keep in mind: enoxaparin (Lovenox) is already a blood thinner, so it slows down clot formation on its own. Sweet clover contains coumarin, and if the plant spoils or ferments it can form dicoumarol, a compound with its own blood-thinning action. Stack that on top of your injection and you could, in theory, tip the scales toward too much thinning.
That means a higher chance of bruising easily, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or bleeding that's slow to stop. To be honest, this warning is based on pharmacology and theory, not strong human studies, so don't panic. Still, since you're already on a powerful clot preventer, please run any sweet clover product by your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Sweet Clover
What is Sweet Clover?
- Varicose veins and poor circulation
- Leg swelling (edema)
- Hemorrhoids
- Bruising and minor inflammation
- Respiratory complaints
Sweet clover is a traditional European herb most often promoted for vein problems and leg swelling, but high-quality human evidence is limited. It contains coumarin, which can become dangerous if the plant spoils, so quality matters and you should talk to a pharmacist before using it.
About Enoxaparin Injection
What Is Enoxaparin Injection Used For?
Brand name: Lovenox
Enoxaparin injection is used to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) — blood clots in the legs — in people having abdominal surgery, hip replacement surgery, or knee replacement surgery, and in hospitalized patients who are largely immobile due to acute illness. It is also used to treat acute DVT, with or without a pulmonary embolism (a clot in the lungs), both in the hospital and at home.
It is also used alongside aspirin to reduce dangerous complications of unstable angina and non-Q-wave heart attack, and to treat acute STEMI (a severe type of heart attack involving full blockage of a coronary artery) in patients who receive clot-dissolving therapy or undergo a procedure to open the blocked artery (PCI).

Natural Medicines records Enoxaparin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Sweet Clover — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
