Dextroamphetamine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Terminalia interacts with.

Theoretically, use of Terminalia arjuna may increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Terminalia arjuna extract inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes and reduces CYP2D6 substrate metabolism.

Here's the basic idea: your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to help break down dextroamphetamine. Lab research suggests Terminalia arjuna may slow that enzyme down. If clearance slows, more of the medication could linger in your system, which could nudge up its usual effects, things like a faster or pounding heartbeat, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, or a reduced appetite.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. It's a theoretical concern based only on test-tube work, not on real people, so we don't actually know if it matters in everyday use. Still, since this is a stimulant that affects your heart and blood pressure, it's worth running past your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two, especially if you already have heart concerns.

What Is Dextroamphetamine Used For?

Brand name: Dexedrine

Dextroamphetamine treats two conditions: ADHD and narcolepsy (a sleep disorder causing uncontrollable daytime sleepiness). It is available in multiple forms — tablets, extended-release capsules, oral solution, and a skin patch — and the approved age ranges vary by product.

Oral tablets (Zenzedi, generic) and oral solutions (Procentra, generic) are approved for ADHD in children as young as 3 years old and for narcolepsy. Extended-release capsules (Dexedrine, generic) are approved for ADHD in children ages 6 to 16 and for narcolepsy. Xelstrym, the transdermal patch, is approved only for ADHD — in adults and children ages 6 and older — and is not indicated for narcolepsy.
